About the project

Our Common Cause: Our Upland Commons Project is a three-year, £3m, 25-partner project helping to secure the future of upland commons in Dartmoor, the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Shropshire Hills. It's led by the Foundation for Common Land.

As well as improving understanding of common land and the commoning system, Our Upland Commons is looking at what's happening in our upland landscapes that will help to tackle climate change and improve habitats to reverse biodiversity decline.

The project has been made possible by funding from National Lottery players, grants from Esmée Fairbairn and Garfield Weston Foundations.
