Whinchat Range Changes on Dartmoor - Online Webinar

You are invited to a special event that delves into the world of Whinchats, a small perching bird, and their crucial role as an iconic upland species in Britain. The UK population of Whinchats has seen a significant decline of 57% in just a quarter of a century, and we need your support to help reverse this trend.

During this webinar, Robert Hawkes, a Conservation Scientist at the RSPB, will present the findings of a recent study that explores why Whinchats have disappeared from certain areas of Dartmoor while persisting in others.

Dartmoor, one of the last remaining Whinchat strongholds in South West England, is facing challenges similar to the national trend. This talk is part of the "Our Common Cause: Our Upland Commons" initiative, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, and supported by 25 organisations, including the RSPB. This initiative aims to secure the future of all upland commons, making it a significant milestone in conservation efforts.

Join us to learn more about Whinchats, their habitat, and what you can do to help preserve this iconic bird's future on Dartmoor.
